In this piece, I am using the same texture(silica sand) that I have fallen in love with, but not covering the entire canvas. Also, I've added three new shapes. I think not only my texture, but also my shapes really define my work. I'm paying more attention to composition right from the shapes In this piece, I am using the same texture(silica sand) that I have fallen in love with, but not covering the entire canvas. Also, I've added three new shapes. I think not only my texture, but also my shapes really define my work. I'm paying more attention to composition right from the shapes level, before the canvas ever sees paint. This piece and Applied II make use of a rectangle which is actually the lid of the plastic container that once held foil covered chocolates I received for Christmas. I held the lid to the canvas and painted around it. I've also been making "skins" from self leveling gel. The fancy raised grid like shape in the middle third of the piece is a skin made in a cake decorating form.....I really have way too much fun doing what I do, and am always looking for new "tools"...thanks for looking
