This is a trip through history for me, something we need to do for (to) ourselves once in a while. Years ago, in my co-op gallery of 20 artists, we decided to have a "gallery challenge" where everyone painted from the same reference photo, in their own style. Not having a "style" back then, I agonized over the reference photo, procrastinated, agonized again and not until the last five days before the deadline did I complete this painting. It isn't really representational, but it also isn't really abstract. My brother asked today if I ever had the urge to paint in a representational manner...no, not reallyl!. Anyway, I decided to share this piece with you, to acknowledge my roots. Thanks for looking
